The Uncommon Individual Foundation, established in 1986, is
a private, nonprofit foundation exclusively devoted to mentoring: mentor/mentee training,
consultation, program implementation and evaluation. We design and implement mentoring
programs, write training manuals, provide instructors to train mentors and mentees, and
evaluate the mentoring process. Our clients include a number of America's largest corporations, as well as colleges, universities, government agencies, religious organizations, public and private schools, professional associations, youth organizations, and social service agencies. We work with people at all levels: men, women, youth, at-risk children, underprivileged, and those who do not have easy access to formal, informal or accidental mentoring. Our goal is to enable each individual to recognize the benefits of mentoring and to learn how to use it to achieve success. Through training, mentees are encouraged to achieve independence and self-reliance in planning and pursuing career objectives. Both mentors and mentees learn specific skills and learn how to use the power of mentoring to discover and use their talents to reach their goals.
New to the Foundation are David Collins, Bill O'Brien and Brenda-Jayne Wiltshire. The
