John C. Crosby, Ed.D., is founding executive director of The Uncommon Individual Foundation, and is devoted to helping individuals develop themselves to their fullest potential through mentoring. Dr. Crosby's 35-year career in education includes 20 years as superintendent of schools in three school districts in Pennsylvania Bethlehem, Boyertown, and Radnor. During his 12-year tenure in Radnor, the district was rated one of the nation's best by the Wall Street Journal and Consumer Reports. Over the years Dr. Crosby has successfully mentored administrators, teachers and students, many of whom have become excellent educators, superintendents, business executives, and leaders in their communities. A native Texan, John holds a bachelors degree from Abilene Christian University, a maters degree from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University, and a doctorate from Teachers College, Columbia University, where he served three years as an instructor in the Department of Educational Administration and as a senior associate in the Institute of Field Studies. Currently, he is an active member of the Center for School Study Councils for Superintendents, Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania, and is an associate member of Suburban School Superintendents, a national organization of 100 superintendents of public school districts recognized for their exemplary educational programs. He is a trustee of The Vanguard School Corporate Board, board chair-elect of The Crossroads School, and board president of Eastern College Friends of the Library. Back to About Us The Uncommon
